Description
Exciting opportunity for an experienced Support Engineer within a leading organisation based in Diss, Norfolk.
Duties will include:
• Providing general IT support to all employees and sites across the
• Assist in the management of the technical infrastructure, domain and networks throughout the Group
• Support the IT department in the daily running of the IT helpdesk
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues Build / configure hardware such as laptops, PCs, printers and terminals
• Escalate IT issues to the Head of IT as appropriate
• Participate in system installation projects off site
• Provide a high level of customer service and support at all times, behaving in a professional manner in all communications and responses
• Assist with server / network diagnostics, repair and maintenance – investigating issues thoroughly until resolution
• Network management (proactively undertaking measures to ensure best network service is provided to all sites)
Applicants must possess 5+ years experience of the following:
• Working within an IT helpdesk team at 2nd / 3rd level for a multisite business with a large customer base working at differing levels from PC diagnostics to server problem resolution
• A technical background in a Microsoft Windows environment utilising Terminal Services
• Experience of MS Server 2003 / 2008, MS Exchange 2007 /2010, MS SQL 2008 R2 (and experience using SQL Express), MS Active Directory
• Windows 7, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook) 2007 or 2010 versions
• Experience of communication technologies (such as Wide Area Networks, VPNs, ADSL, Remote Desktop, Anti Virus (Kaspersky), Terminal Services, Virtual Servers (WMWare), etc
